I'm a lifelong Kansan and a lifelong fan of public broadcasting. I found Radio Kansas not long after the first station went on the air in 1979. I remember fondly many of the station's early efforts, and get misty if I hear a piece of music that was used as a theme song for one of those shows.

It's been my pleasure to see Radio Kansas grow into a regional public service. If you listen much at all, you're probably like me and couldn't imagine life around here without the classical music, in-depth news and variety programming we offer.

We're busy behind the scenes these days preparing for the launch of a whole new channel! By year's end we hope to offer a 24 hour per day classical music channel in addition to the great mix you already hear on Radio Kansas! When you buy a new radio, look for the HD Radio logo. That means the radio incorporates new digital technology that will allow you to pick up extra signals from select stations.

One of my greatest pleasures is recording local concerts for broadcast. Like a lot of folks, I played an instrument in school but didn't keep it up. I'm glad to make my musical contribution to the community by recording a few events each year and producing those recordings for broadcast. Our new relationship with the Wichita Symphony has been in the works for a long time, and it's nice that we're finally able to present those broadcasts.

As Director of Programming I help announcers and program producers make decisions from your perspective as a listener. We hope that helps you choose this station more frequently, and rewards you for sticking around once you're here.
