Autumn Fox with Molly
Autumn Fox is a relatively new member of Radio Kansas,
having moved to Abilene only a few years ago. But she
has been a staunch supporter ever since she found us.
In fact, Autumn credits Radio Kansas with saving her
life. As she tells it, on her frequent trips between
Abilene, where she has her law practice and Topeka,
where she serves as an Assistant Attorney General, she
developed a bad habit. She would read books while driving
on I-70. Luckily for all of us, she discovered Radio
Kansas and began listening on those drives, and kept
her eyes on the road.
Autumn lives on the Bad Girl Ranch near Abilene. The
spread includes cats, dogs and horses that Autumn claims
have the same bad girl reputation. However, her clear
favorite is Molly. There is no sign that Molly is a
bad girl; that is if the supply of peppermints holds
out and there is fresh snow to roll in.
"Stories that make me laugh and stories that make me
cry," that's what attracts Autumn to NPR news on Radio
Kansas. She also likes the fact that most of our support
comes from individuals. She wanted to preserve independent
news by being a contributor and wanted her support to
go on beyond her lifetime. In order to do that, she
included us in her will, which supports her two major
interests through a revocable trust. Radio Kansas, of
course, and an attempt to create a Modified No Kill
Animal Shelter in Dickinson County. By using the trust,
Autumn's estate will bypass the probate system and help
all of her beneficiaries more quickly and more fully.
